The two hour, ongoing, weekly classes will be taught by Leo Peppas. The classes will be on the principles that the teaching at yogayoga is based upon.
These principles are a way to understand how the body-mind works and the nature of anatomy; this understanding can support a deeper experience of the essence of many Asanas and yoga practices. They can be a basis for practice and teaching, a source from which to creatively develop your own material.

Some of the principles covered will be:
Embodiment of all body systems (muscles, bones, organs, nervous system, glands, connective tissue and fluids), this includes experiential anatomy
Developmental movement qualities of Yield, Push, Reach & Pull and application to yoga
Developmental movement patterns from cellular breathing to contralateral and application to yoga
Perception of Ground & Space (kinesthetic awareness & ideokinesis)
  Whole body & spinal integration
Sequential flow of movement & force through the body
  Alignment & the breath
Core support – engaging mobility & stability
The Lateral & Spiral lines in the body
Receptivity – Internal reference & building Proprioception
  Balance of Action & Being
Understanding Context & Content in teaching & practice

Working with Body Image & Body Schema

Working on different levels: Tissue, Coordination, Perception, Symbolic
  Global Anatomy

The group format is designed to support engaging in the material, integration and application of the principles, you will be encouraged to create smaller practice groups and build up your own resource material including a practice journal.

The advanced study group is suitable for:
Yoga teachers or yoga teachers in training
Those who have studied at yogayoga for at least two years
Dedicated yoga students who have studied with someone else and with at least two years yoga experience. Please include details of your yoga experience and the motivation for your application
Professionals in related fields who work with movement, bodywork, body-mind-spirit and who have a considerable amount of yoga experience. Please include details of your yoga experience and the motivation for your application

Some experience of yogayoga's way of working is recommended as you can then be more assured of the suitability of the advanced study group.

We recommend early registration, this will be on a first come basis. The group will be ongoing, booked in blocks of 10 classes, the cost is €250.

If you are interested please email us with any questions and to receive the registration details.
